...you'll be delighted to discover our enchanting space hidden in the heart of the countryside
Woodland Hollow is a truly unique blank canvas outdoor event space that's all yours to bring to life the wedding or private event of your dreams. Perched on the famous Greensand Ridge, hidden up a track past grazing horses, you'll find our enchanting secret entrance that winds though evergreen fir tree woodland lit with twinkling lights, to a huge meadow with breathtaking views of the rolling countryside for miles. We're not biased when we say that this piece of the land is pretty special.
The intimate woodland glade started life as a Christmas tree plantation and is a magical spot for an outdoor ceremony or reception drinks. The adjoining 2-acre meadow can accommodate any size and style of structure with plenty of space for food vans, mobile bars, fairground rides and more. We're a flexible venue and love to accommodate your unique and individual concepts.
The practical things are important too and we've sufficient space for all your guest car parking on an adjacent, but out of sight, field with direct road access and space for helicopter landings. We're conveniently located on the outskirts of the pretty village of Lidlington, Bedfordshire, with excellent road and rail transport links.
We know you'll fall in love with Woodland Hollow as much as we have - come and see it for yourself!
Here at Woodland Hollow we are a blank canvas venue, this means that we provide the gorgeous outdoor location and you fill it with the lovely things you choose to make your truly unique and special day. So, what's included?
Site and The Basics
You and your suppliers will have exclusive access to the Woodland Glade and Meadow for four days, plus use of the Parking Field on the wedding day itself. This typically works on the basis of tent build on day 1, décor and styling on day 2, wedding on day 3 and clear down on day 4. We have a separate supplier entrance directly to our Meadow for ease of setup, and access to drinking water for you and your suppliers. We can also organise power and luxury toilet units*.
Ceremony or Blessings
What could be better than saying 'I Do' in a sun dappled intimate woodland glade?! We would love it if you choose to hold your ceremony here although, as per most blank canvas venues, we are not currently licensed for legal ceremonies. We think that Celebrant (or Humanist, or friend, or family!) led ceremonies are fantastically unique, giving you absolute freedom to personalise your marriage - you'll just need to do the legal bits shortly before or after your big day. If you are planning a church or civil ceremony on the day itself that's also fine and we'll welcome you and your guests to Woodland Hollow afterwards. We're happy to say that choosing to hold your ceremony here doesn't add any extra cost to your venue hire.
Support for You and Your Suppliers
We know that turning a meadow into a wedding can feel daunting but when you book with us we'll send you a list of all the key components you need to consider during your planning. We'll also provide you with a list of trusted suppliers that we have worked and know will deliver for you. Throughout your planning journey we will be on hand to answer any questions and support site visits for your and your suppliers. We'll also hold a meeting approximately 6 weeks before your big day to confirm your plans and timings.
During your setup and on the day we'll support you and your suppliers with the important logistical tasks such as getting suppliers setup in position with access to power, setting out outdoor furniture, welcoming guests to the venue, general tidying throughout the day and overseeing safe exit of your guests at the end of the night.
Our package is £2,500 for 2024 & 2025 weddings
Optional Extras
*We can organise generator power and luxury toilet units for you from our preferred supplier, the cost of which depends on your guest numbers and supplier power needs but is typically £1,350.
what type of tent can we use?
We welcome structures of all shapes and sizes - marquees, tipis, yurts and so on! We don't provide the canvas just the field so you are free to choose whichever supplier you wish, but we'll be happy to recommend some lovely reliable suppliers we know
will we need to pay corkage?
Absolutely not. Providing your own reception, toast and meal drinks is one of the budget friendly plus points of a blank canvas wedding. You'll need to consider storage, cooling, glassware and service from either your catering team or a day coordinator
can we set off fireworks?
Fire on the ground but not in the sky! We have to say no to fireworks and chinese style lanterns. Being in the heart of the countryside we have animal and farming fields very close by. Firepits and tiki torches are welcome in agreed locations
what about the party?
Bands and DJs of any type welcome! We love a good party but as an open air venue amplified music needs to finish at 11pm and we respectfully requests your guests are on their way before midnight.
can I involve animals in my big day?
We love animals and welcome them to participate in your wedding, but as there's a horse paddock nearby they will need to be on leads or kept in an enclosed temporary enclosure, depending on the type of animal they are
how can our guests get there?
We have an adjacent field with direct road access for guests who are driving to park on. Cars can be left overnight but must be collected by 2pm the next day. We're close by the M1 J13 and a few minutes by taxi from Flitwick train station
what suppliers will we need to consider?
Your tent, food & drinks will be high on the list but generator power, toilets and lighting need to be up there too! We also recommend taking up on the day coordination from a wedding planner and can recommend suppliers for all services
waste not, want not
Unfortunately we cannot dispose of your waste or manage your recycling, so you'll need to ensure that you and your suppliers can take everything away from site, or we can organise a next day waste collection at an additional cost
