...you'll be delighted to discover our enchanting space hidden in the heart of the countryside
Woodland Hollow is a truly unique blank canvas outdoor event space that's all yours to bring to life the wedding of your dreams. Perched on the famous Greensand Ridge, hidden up a track past grazing horses, you'll find our enchanting secret entrance that winds though evergreen fir tree woodland lit with twinkling lights, to a huge meadow with breathtaking views of the rolling countryside for miles. We're not biased when we say that this piece of the land is pretty special.
The intimate woodland glade started life as a Christmas tree plantation and is a magical spot for an outdoor ceremony and reception drinks. The adjoining 2-acre meadow can accommodate any size and style of structure with plenty of space for food vans, mobile bars, fairground rides or even a helicopter landing pad!
The practical things are important too and we've sufficient space for all your guest car parking on an adjacent, but out of sight, field with direct road access. We're conveniently located on the outskirts of the village of Lidlington, Bedfordshire, with excellent road and rail transport links.
We know you'll fall in love with Woodland Hollow as much as we have - come and see it for yourself!
Support On Your Planning Journey
We know that turning a meadow into a wedding can feel daunting but we're here to support you every step of the way. When you book with us we'll send you a list of all the components you need to consider during your planning. We'll also provide you with a list of trusted suppliers that we have worked and know will deliver for you. Throughout your planning journey we will speak regularly and get together to go through your plans, make suggestions and understand how we can support you on the day.
We'll meet with you again ahead of your big day to confirm final plans, timings for the day and the suppliers you've chosen - and of course we'll be there throughout the course of the day itself to ensure everything runs smoothly.
What could be better than saying 'I Do' in a sun dappled intimate woodland glade?! We would love it if you choose to hold your ceremony here although, as per most blank canvas venues, we are not currently licensed for legal ceremonies. We think that Celebrant (or Humanist, or friend, or family!) led ceremonies are fantastically unique, giving you absolute freedom to personalise your marriage - you'll just need to do the legal bits shortly before or after your big day. If you are planning a church or civil ceremony on the day itself that's also fine and we'll welcome you and your guests to Woodland Hollow afterwards. We're happy to say that choosing to hold your ceremony here doesn't add any extra cost to your venue hire.
On The Day Coordination
Unlike traditional venues, at a blank canvas location there are many more suppliers to coordinate throughout the day and a ton of tasks that you and your guests shouldn't have to worry about. From checking table numbers are in the right place to lighting candles at the right time, setting out reception drinks, ensuring sufficient power for suppliers, making sure there's enough hand towels in the toilet and clearing up throughout the day. We've got all of that covered because, unlike other similiar venues, On The Day Coordination is a core feature of our standard wedding package here at Woodland Hollow, so leave all of this in our team's hands, relax and enjoy your special day!
Our package inclusive of all of the above is £2,400* for 2022 weddings
*We can organise generator power and luxury toilet units for you, the cost of which depends on your guest numbers and supplier power needs but is typically £1,350. You are also welcome to supply these yourself or ask your structure provider for an inclusive package, hence why we don't mandate this cost as part of our standard package.
Here at Woodland Hollow we are a blank canvas venue, this means that we provide the gorgeous outdoor location and organise the core outdoor wedding infrastructure and you fill it with the lovely things you choose to make your truly unique and special day. So, what's included?
Site and The Basics
You and your suppliers will have exclusive access to the Woodland Glade and Meadow for four days, plus use of the Parking Field on the wedding day itself. This typically works on the basis of tent build on day 1, décor and styling on day 2, wedding on day 3 and clear down on day 4. We have a separate supplier entrance directly to our Meadow for ease of setup and access to drinking water for you and your suppliers. We can also provide suitable power and luxury toilet units*.
what type of tent can we use?
We welcome structures of all shapes and sizes - marquees, tipis, yurts and so on! We don't provide the canvas just the field so you are free to choose whichever supplier you wish, but we'll be happy to recommend some lovely reliable suppliers we know
will we need to pay corkage?
Absolutely not. Providing your own reception, toast and meal drinks is one of the budget friendly plus points of a blank canvas wedding. You'll need to consider storage, cooling and glassware but we can discuss options with you
can we set off fireworks?
Fire on the ground but not in the sky! We have to say no to fireworks and chinese style lanterns. Being in the heart of the countryside we have animal and farming fields very close by. Firepits and tiki torches are welcome in agreed locations
what about the party?
Bands and DJs of any type welcome! We love a good party but as an open air venue amplified music needs to finish at 11pm and we respectfully requests your guests are on their way before midnight.
can I involve animals in my big day?
We love animals and welcome them to participate in your wedding, but as there's a horse paddock nearby they will need to be on leads or kept in an enclosed temporary enclosure, depending on the type of animal they are
how can our guests get there?
We have an adjacent field with direct road access for guests who are driving to park on. Cars can be left overnight but must be collected by 2pm the next day. We're close by the M1 J13 and a few minutes by taxi from Flitwick train station
what suppliers will we need to consider?
Your tent and food will be high on the list but generator power, toilets and lighting need to be up there too! We can recommend suppliers or discuss packages to help arrange and coordinate these logistics for for you
waste not, want not
Unfortunately we cannot dispose of your waste or manage your recycling, so you'll need to ensure that you and your suppliers can take everything away from site, or we can organise a next daywaste collection at an additional cost
